A Romantic Spring Wedding at The Mill Barns | Laura & Andy

Some couples just radiate comfort, warmth, and love the second you meet them, and Laura & Andy were exactly that. From the moment they first found me at a wedding fair, I knew their wedding was going to be something special. When Laura later emailed to book me and said that her and her bridesmaid had loved my “aura”, honestly… my heart melted 🥹

Before the wedding day, we also had an online meeting so I could properly meet Andy too, and it was immediately obvious just how in love these two are. After already spending 16 years together and building a beautiful family, their wedding day wasn’t just about becoming husband and wife, it was a celebration of everything they’d already created together.

A Beautiful Spring Wedding at The Mill Barns

Laura & Andy tied the knot on Friday 8th May 2026 at the stunning The Mill Barns, one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Shropshire. Their colour palette of champagne, cream, and emerald green worked perfectly within the venue’s elegant and modern setting, creating such a timeless and romantic feel throughout the day.

Soft roses and lilies added to the styling beautifully, while a thoughtful memory table filled with family photographs brought such a meaningful and emotional touch to the space.

A Slightly Stressful Start… Where Was the Dress?!

Now… every wedding day has something 😂

And this time? The dress and rings wasn’t actually there when bridal prep started!

We were all waiting for Laura’s dad to arrive with it, which definitely added a little bit of suspense to the morning. Thankfully, we can always rely on dad!

The bridal prep room itself was lovely and spacious, tucked away downstairs where no guests can randomly stumble upon you, the perfect place for everyone getting ready together!

A Ceremony Full of Emotion

The ceremony room at The Mill Barns is absolutely breathtaking, like genuinely! I always gasp when I walk in. Photographing Laura & Andy saying their vows there was such a highlight of the day for me.

Andy became emotional during the ceremony, and those moments always get me a little too. After sixteen years together, you could feel the depth of their connection in every glance and every smile. The room was filled with so much love and support from the people closest to them.

Dodging Rain & Chasing Portraits

The weather mostly stayed on our side throughout the day, although we did have to dodge a few patches of rain during couple portraits! Thankfully, The Mill Barns has so many gorgeous locations for photographs that we could easily adapt.

We used the stunning front of the venue for group photographs before heading over to the venue’s iconic bridge for Laura & Andy’s portraits, and these ended up being some of my favourite images from the entire wedding. Romantic, relaxed, and full of genuine connection… exactly what wedding photography should feel like.

Laughter, Singing Waiters & Magic Tricks

The entire atmosphere of the wedding was lively, joyful, and full of laughter from start to finish. The speeches brought a perfect mix of heartfelt moments and chaos, thanks to hilarious jokes from both the father of the bride and the best man.

Guests were also entertained by a magician during cocktail hour and the wedding breakfast, which always creates such a fun atmosphere and gives everyone something to talk about between courses.

And just when everyone thought the surprises were over… the singing waiter made an appearance during dessert, bringing even more energy into the room and getting guests fully involved!

The evening finished with a packed dance floor, a brilliant DJ, and everyone simply enjoying every second of celebrating Laura & Andy.

A Wedding Filled With Real Love

What stood out most about Laura & Andy’s wedding was the genuine and overflowing amount of love they have for each other.

After sixteen years together, there was such a calmness and certainty between them. The kind of love that feels safe, steady, joyful, and deeply rooted. Photographing weddings like this is such a privilege.
